Mr. Sheppard

Mr. Sheppard is an original oil painting on oval canvas of an anthropomorphic border collie. This was inspired not only by a border collie we once had as a family, but also by a well trained one I witnessed in action at a Scottish Highland Festival. I was totally captivated by the intelligence and energy of that border collie as it very skillfully rounded up the sheep. I tried to show those characteristics in this painting as well as his innate nature to handle each sheep situation almost completely on his own. The image measures 16"x20"x .75" deep, is framed in wood, and is wired on the back, ready to hang.
